Meaford Man Charged After Death Threats

On Monday, October 6, at approximately 7:59 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious male after the male had attended a residence on Trowbridge Street, in Meaford, and threatened to kill the residents.  The male had been drinking alcohol.

The suspect, who was not known to the victim, left the scene on foot.  Police located the suspect at the intersection of Trowbridge Street and Sykes Street, where he was arrested.  Further investigation revealed the suspect was on a court recognizance to abstain from consuming alcohol.

The 46 year old Meaford man was charged with utter threats to cause death or bodily harm as well as breach of a recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code.
