Drunk Pedestrian Arrested During R.I.D.E. Program

opp logo270On July 16 at approximately 2:43 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at the intersection of Grey Rd. 29 and Sideroad 6 in the Municipality of Meaford

when the officers observed a male pedestrian staggering from the shoulder to the centre of the road towards them.

The male was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Chatsworth OPP station where he remained until sober.

The 19-year old Meaford man was issued a Provincial Offence Notice under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
