Roll Into Summer, Try Lawn Bowling

Staff

Spring is here, and that means it is time to polish up your lawn bowls.  The Meaford Lawn Bowling club will host a pot luck supper for new and returning lawn bowlers at 5 pm on May 14, at the club house behind Alex’s Gas Station on Sykes Street in downtown Meaford.

Lawn Bowling is a enjoyable social sport open to anyone over the age of ten. In joining the club, there is no commitment to any specific team as people often go away for family summer trips, so instead teams are chosen from those who arrive on bowling nights.

The club is offering free Lawn Bowling clinics for new bowlers and for returning lawn bowlers who want to brush up on their skills on May 18th and 25 at 1:30pm as well as June 1 and June 10 at 7pm.

The success, last year, of our junior bowler Owen Tichbourne has lead us to want to form a Junior Lawn Bowling League in 2015,” said organizers.

Bring a friend or come and make new friends. The only requirements are a smile and flat rubber soled shoes.
