The Meaford and District Fire Department has issued a ban on open air fires within the Municipality of Meaford due to the hot, dry conditions in the area.
Hot, dry weather means the risk of fires is high, and caution must be taken. The ban is effective immediately, and will remain in place until further notice.
The ban applies to all open air fires in the Municipality of Meaford, with the exception of area campgrounds which will allow only recreational burns smaller than 2ftx2ft. This exception may be subject to change at the discretion of Fire officials.
“The Meaford and District Fire Department would like to thank you for your cooperation,” said the Fire Department.
