Staff

Cut the cake and queue the movies! The Meaford International Film Festival will unveil its 2016 season at 12:30pm during the Canada Day festivities in Market Square (adjacent to Meaford Hall).

“MIFF is truly a ‘festival’ that celebrates film and our community,” says Artistic Director Christopher Thomas. “So I’m really excited that we will be sharing our 10th anniversary plans in the midst of such an important community event.”

Highlights of the Canada Day launch will include a look back at the past nine seasons of MIFF including the work of our local student film makers and remarks by Mayor Mayor Barb Clumpus.

In addition to previews of the 2016 line up, there will be an announcement about an exciting addition to this year’s festival in celebration of MIFF’s 10th anniversary.

MIFF is a signature presentation of the Meaford Hall and Culture Foundation and Chair Rod MacAlpine says, “As well as news about our MIFF Meal caterers, we will also be announcing a fantastic list of Special Guests for this year’s festival.”

Be the first to know who they are, and pick up your festival tickets from the Meaford Hall box office next door to be sure you secure your favourite seats – history has shown that they sell quickly.

“While you’re at it, check out the flashy MIFF gear that will be on sale,” said organizers. “Meaford Hall & Culture Foundation Board Members will be on hand to reminisce about past events and to personally invite you to the best four-day party in the Municipality of Meaford! Christopher Thomas will also be happy to share his thoughts and discuss the film choices for this year as well as the past.”
