David Wilding Davies270If it is spring, it’s Koffee House Reads time.

The Meaford Public Library’s 5th annual Koffee House Reads begins on Friday, April 22 at 2 pm, featuring author David Wilding-Davies at Meaford Hall.

This series features local authors at venues throughout the Municipality of Meaford speaking about their books and the writing process.

David Wilding-Davies, founder of the Ashanti Coffee franchise, will be discussing his book My Cattle Look Thin. The book is about his time in Zimbabwe where, in 2000, he purchased a coffee farm. He and his family learned from the staff and neighbours how to grow coffee beans and went on to win the Coffee Grower of the Year in 2003. However, in 2005, he and his family had to flee the country due to political strife. Wilding-Davies brought the coffee back to Ontario and opened Ashanti Café.

Through Koffee House Reads, the Meaford Public Library introduces local writers to members of the community.

Tickets are $5 per person and each includes a hot beverage and dessert. There are a limited number of tickets for each event.

Stop by the library to get yours today and join us at this fun, social event.
