Staff from the municipal Environmental Services team have begun flushing fire hydrants as part of their annual maintenance program within urban Meaford. Flushing will take place throughout the month of October from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
During this time you may notice a slight discoloration or cloudy appearance of the water, and reduced pressure if you are using water during the flushing process. The water may be flushed onto the road surface and may leave puddles after flushing has been completed.
If you experience cloudy or coloured water, please run the cold water tap in the bathtub to clear the service lines. This is the recommended tap to run the water through as it does not have a screen to collect any material that may be in the system.
