Wanted Male Arrested After Foot Chase in Meaford

On Friday, July 17, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) learned of a male subject wanted by the Owen Sound Police Service for criminal offences living in a shed behind a residence on Thompson Street, in the Municipality of Meaford.

As officers approached the property, the suspect fled on foot. He was apprehended on Grandview Drive after a short foot chase. During the arrest, a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine was located on the suspect. He was taken to the Meaford Detachment and was later turned over to the Owen Sound Police on their arrest warrant.

The 39 year-old Owen Sound man was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order under the Criminal Code.
