Wasaga Beach Teen Charged After Driving in Excess of 170 Km/hr on Highway 26 in Meaford

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a Wasaga Beach driver for stunt driving and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

On June 7, at approximately 7:14 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Highway 26 in the Municipality of Meaford after an officer observed it to be travelling in excess of 170km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone.

As a result, a 19-year-old driver from Wasaga Beach has been charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The driver is also facing a 30-day licence suspension, and their motor vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.

The driver is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Offences Court in Owen Sound at a later date.
