Vehicle Crashes Into School Bus

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Meaford resident for crashing into a school bus.

On November 18, at 8:16 a.m., Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Highway 26 near Clearview Crescent in the Municipality when they came upon a collision involving a school bus and motor vehicle. The bus was stopped for another bus that had their lights and stop arm out when a motor vehicle crashed into the rear of it. There were no injuries resulting from the incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old from Meaford was changed under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving.

Grey Bruce OPP want to remind drivers of the following:

  • Watch for flashing amber lights indicating the bus will stop to pick up or drop off students.
  • Slow down and prepare to stop when the bus activates its alternately flashing red lights.
  • Do not move forward until the red lights have stopped flashing or the bus begins to move.
