I am writing in response to Bruce Mason’s letter, “Reader Not Buying Save Georgian Bay’s Message.” Mr. Mason incorrectly attributes recent letters to the editor written by Meaford citizens as messages from Save Georgian Bay.
It is important to note that there are numerous individuals and groups, in addition to Save Georgian Bay, who are concerned about TC Energy’s proposed pumped storage project. In fact, over 43,000 people have signed a petition opposing the project.
The concerns surrounding this project are diverse and vast. Indeed, in addition to the glaring issues of the $7 billion cost to taxpayers and the significant environmental risks, there is much to be concerned about. It is also worth noting that support for the project may stem from various motivations. Therefore, it is crucial to acknowledge and respect the individuality of each person’s views.
