I’m responding to the person critical of NIMBYs (not in my back yard) and their opposition to the TCE pumped storage project.
Wake up. This project will impact all of us. It’s not just those living east, south or west of the reservoir, along the shoreline, within 5 miles of the base, in proximity to the harbour, or those relying on a healthy Georgian Bay-Lake Huron ecosystem for decades to come.
Proponents argue the pumped storage will be a boon to all of Meaford, and all of Ontario.
Opponents have alternative data, and maintain this is not the best energy solution for Ontario.
By degree, the project will impact all of us. It’s just a matter of defining your geographic boundaries, and the values you choose to live by.
The real battlefield is between the scientists, the lobbyists, and the politicians. Quite the arena.
