Protect the Pollinators

Dear Editor,

I saw a swallow today—only one but last time it was a flock. I saw a bluebird too. It used to be ten but one is good. I am seeing Bumble Bees—only a few but have seen none for the last two years.

The point is that the pollinators and bug eaters are down but not out.

Please ask your readers to NOT use poison to kill anything. Their pathetic, useless patch of green does not mean as much as the ecology of the future. Many neighbours are allergic to the poisons carried on the wind. What kills small things will eventually accumulate to kill the big things too.

Thank you,

Roberta Docherty, Meaford
