The Municipality of Meaford is reminding residents that overnight parking restrictions take effect beginning November 15, 2023, and remain in place until April 1, 2024. Overnight Parking Restrictions are enforced to ensure that municipal roads and lots are maintained throughout the winter to provide safe travel.
While Overnight Parking Restrictions are in place, no person shall allow their vehicle to be parked, placed, or left standing on any street, or in any municipal parking lot between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The Market Square Parking Lot located at 12 Nelson Street East permits overnight parking at no cost. This parking lot has two specific rows dedicated for overnight parking, divided as odd and even rows, which correspond to the calendar day.
Prior to parking your vehicle, you need to consider if your vehicle will still be parked in that spot when the plow will be clearing the lot the next day between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Then figure out what day it is and park your vehicle in either the odd or even row based on the date and time when the lot will be plowed. For example, if today is the 15th and you won’t be moving your vehicle until the morning, you should park it in the even row to allow the plow to clear the lot between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on the 16th.
