Olivet Hits a Home Run With Recent Renovations

Since 1964, the church building housing Olivet Fellowship has served them well, but in 2012 major renovations took place to remedy some structural problems and make the building fully accessible, which included installing a lift.

Two years ago they voted to remove the pews and replace them with individual padded seats, and also to replace their inefficient lighting with LEDs.

Then, this year the renovation bug bit them again and they took advantage of the fact that the church was closed due to COVID, and three church members got to work to demolish the previous stage area and rebuild it to modern standards. The result is truly stunning. They now have a highly versatile stage which can be modified quickly and easily to accommodate just about any type of event or occasion, complete with state-of-the-art lighting and sound.

The three members involved committed four months of their lives to do this, and it was finished just in time for the beginning of reopening after COVID. It is noteworthy that partly because of escalating lumber costs, but mostly because they wished to be environmentally responsible, they reused much of the lumber which had been torn out.

They now have an attractive, efficient, and friendly building which can be used for a wide variety of community oriented events. Who knows what they will do next?
