Ruth Wright passed away peacefully at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in her 89th year.
Born in Clarksburg, Ontario, on November 30, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (nee Garvey) Milne.
Predeceased by elder sister Loreen Craig and her son Dennis McGuinness.
Loving mother of Paula (Sam) McGuinness of Shallow Lake and Bruce McGuinness of Meaford. Loving Grandma of Bruce, Janessa, and Angela (Jason) Reid, Gavin and Darin McGuinness, and Calli McGuinness. Beloved Great-Grandma ‘GG’ to Ayla and Emma Soles.
She was the dear sister of Jessie Hopps of Stayner.
Ruth will be remembered as a warm and caring person. With an open heart and welcoming demeanor, her door was always open to all. Many still refer to her as ‘Mommy’. She enjoyed baking, knitting, and Scrabble, and was eager to join any clubs or groups as she enjoyed the company of others. Ruth liked bus trips to anywhere, especially jumping on the bus to Rama with a local group of people.
Ruth’s family express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Chapman House Hospice for the compassionate care she and her family received in her final days.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at Meaford Hall in The Galleries on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 1 until 4 p.m.
