John Duncan McPhee passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughter Shannon, granddaughter Erica, and close friend Wenda at the Meaford Long Term Care on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in his 78th year after a lengthy battle with cancer.
John was born on October 13, 1945, in Thessalon, Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Victoria McPhee.
He is survived by his wife Nancy McPhee (nee Whitby), who is also residing at Meaford Long Term Care, and her daughter Karen (Edward), her son Douglas (Diane), and her sisters Adrian (Bob) and Renee (Rob).
John will be greatly missed by his daughter Shannon Dowden (David), granddaughter Erica (Thomas), and grandson Daniel. He will also be missed by his great-grandchildren Kaleigh, Jaxon, Greyson, and Freya, as well as caring friends Andrew, Wenda, and Nancy in Meaford.
John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, nature, and cooking, and was a skilled carpenter. John was also a veteran of the Canadian Navy.
