Peter Heckmann passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the age of 68 after a heroic battle with cancer.
Born in Uretch, Holland, on September 27, 1952, Peter was a son of the late Heindrich ‘Hank’ and Gourdina ‘Donna’ (nee Wink) Heckmann. Peter was predeceased by his brother Robert Alexander Heckmann.
His surviving wife Sylvia (nee Wright) will miss him beyond what words can express. ‘Pete’ was a loving and devoted husband and she felt very blessed to share her life with him. He was always kind-hearted and willing to help others whether he knew them or not.
After many years spent as an executive in the business world, Pete and Sylvia chose the Meaford area to embrace a different lifestyle and have enjoyed everything the community has to offer.
