Microsoft Scam Warning Reported by Reader

A TMI reader has submitted the following warning to Meaford residents after experiencing a suspected phone scam.

According to the reader, “After several “hung up” calls over a couple of days I received the Windows/Microsoft Technician – Paul, I interrupted him and asked who/where he was actually calling from and he hung up on me. They are back...”

If you receive a suspicious phone call, or if you have been a victim of a scam, obtain as much information from the incident and contact police immediately.

Meaford Enlists Cell Tower Policy Help

cell tower David Burbach225Just days after it was revealed in a letter to council that Rogers Communications had proposed an alternate location for a microwave cell tower, away from Meaford's high school, which was of particular concern to some residents, Meaford's council has voted in favour of enlisting the help of the Canadian Radio-communications and Notification Service (CRINS) for handling policy and process for cell towers and their locations within the municipality.
