National AccessAbility Week – Raising the Flag

The Municipality of Meaford is wishing everyone a very happy National AccessAbility Week! Follow along this week as current and ongoing accessibility efforts in our Municipality are highlighted each day.

To kick off the week of celebrations, the water tower has been lit in yellow and blue to represent accessibility for all. If you visit the downtown core from May 31st to June 6th, you’ll also be able to see the municipal Accessibility Flag on display in the downtown core. The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) legislation aims to identify, remove, and prevent barriers for people with disabilities, with the goal of a barrier-free Ontario by 2025.

The Municipality wants to know, what does AccessAbility mean to you? Share your thoughts with us on our social media channels this week by incorporating the hashtag #AccessibilityMattersMeaford, and follow along here for highlights each day.
