MPC Sponsors Youth Pickleball League

The Meaford Pickleball Club (MPC) is sponsoring a ‘Learn to Play’ Youth Pickleball League this summer.

As a part of their commitment to growing the sport of pickleball and to increasing the level of exercise and activity in Meaford, MPC is launching a youth program.

Thanks to ParticiPACTION providing a small grant, the Club is very excited to teach young people to play this fabulous game,” said the club.

Instruction and paddles will be provided – please wear running shoes. Instructional sessions begin Saturday, June 19, at 12:30 p.m. League will be for eight weeks starting in July through August – dates to be announced. Come out to learn the fundamentals of pickleball, which has a unique blend of characteristics from tennis, table tennis, and badminton. This program is excellent for youth just starting out or looking to improve their existing skills.

Location: Meaford Pavilion Pad, 3 St. Vincent St., Meaford

Cost: Free to learn. League rate will be $2 per week, by donation – no obligation. We want to encourage our youth this summer.

If interested contact Donna Lowe, with name, parent/guardian name, and contact information. See the ad on our Meaford Pickleball Club Facebook page. Email: lowedonna1863@gmail.com, phone 519-377-9622. And by the way, adults, Meaford Pickleball Club is welcoming new members this summer.

All details are on the Club website at www.meafordpb.ca. The membership fee for the year is $50, $20 of which goes to support the growth of pickleball in our province and nationally.

It is the fastest growing sport in North America. Why not come out and find out why so many people love this game?” suggested the club.
