Local Dance Students Performing In The Nutcracker

Dancing candy canes, cupcakes, hot chocolate, and mice of all sizes will be making an appearance at Mutable Arts Dance and Aerial Arts Studio’s presentation of The Nutcracker.

On December 16, audiences will see local children and adults take the stage at the Meaford United Church in downtown Meaford. The sanctuary will be transformed into a theatre just for this event.

This is our second year presenting The Nutcracker,” said Georgie Donais, Director of Mutable Arts. “We’re building on last year’s successful performance, adding colourful costumes and fun props that will help create an entertaining show for our community!”

In this version of The Nutcracker, a family of sisters learns the value of working together and caring for each other as they throw the season’s biggest party, then save the Nutcracker from marauding mice, and are invited to tour The Land of Sweets.

This is a family-friendly event with easy-to-attend afternoon shows, and reduced-price tickets for youngsters. Children aged three years and under attend for free.

The Nutcracker will be presented at Meaford United Church, on Saturday, December 16. Shows at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now at www.mutablearts.ca, with limited tickets available at the door.
