I wonder how many people in our area care about this. As a dual Canada US citizen, I do.
Any country that can elect a leader with these “qualifications” has lost their way.
Trump: a Convicted Felon with many pending indictments who thinks he is above the law. A tyrant, a fascist, a braggart, a dotard, a misogynist, a rapist, a racist, a cheater, a liar, an isolationist, a coward, a trade protectionist, vengeful, anti science, anti vaccination, anti environment, anti climate change, anti gun control, anti asylum seeker, anti immigration, anti health care, anti LGBT, anti NATO, anti government, anti free press, pro Russia, pro Israel, pro religious right, pro oil, pro coal. On and on. I may have missed some. It’s hard to keep up.
Trump claims a landslide victory. Do the numbers seem like a landslide to you ?

What this tells me is that the country is deeply divided on almost all issues. No matter where you stand, half of the people you encounter in the US will disagree with you. Some violently. Some carry guns.
In my opinion, the United States is unsafe for progressive minded people.
On top of all that, the Canadian dollar is at a very low point. Everything costs 40% more in CAD.
Snowbirds need to be extra careful.
