Goldenaires Make Donation to MCS Music Program

By Stephen Vance, Staff

Meaford’s Goldenaires choir recently made a $500 donation to the Meaford Community School music program. The funds come from the proceeds of the Goldenaires annual Spring concert which was held this year on May 4.

Goldenaires performances have become a staple of Meaford’s holiday and Spring seasons under the direction of Jennifer Potter, but they also rehearse and perform throughout the year.

Sandy Pedlar is the teacher who runs the music program at MCS. She does an amazing job there with the kids. This is a group of grade 8 students who have been practicing to perform with the Georgian Bay Symphony. Some of the instruments in this classroom have been in use since the 1970’s,” explained Goldenaire Shirley Keaveney.

The donated funds will be used for repairs or to purchase new instruments.
