Hyperbole in Full Flight

Editor,

This is the type of runaway, reckless hyperbole that developers freely toss around when casting a line for investors and future buyers. This developer wanted to build 160 condominium units between the Library and the Big Head River. The developer shows zero knowledge of Meaford in any way.

Georgian Bay Harbour is a new condo community by AvranceCorp Development currently in preconstruction at 23 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford. The community is scheduled for completion in Dec 2028.

Available units range in price from $436,800 to over $1,178,990. Georgian Bay Harbour has a total of 160 units.

Sizes range from 551 to 1,500 square feet.

Georgian Bay Harbour details :

To feel a sense of belonging, you need a community: a well-stocked local grocer where you can pick up last-minute ingredients; a favourite restaurant that welcomes you like family; or a friendly barber at the end of the street.

Georgian Bay Harbour has it all. Community get-togethers – whether it’s the farmers’ market on a Sunday or a walk by the nice beach of Georgian Bay Lake – mean that getting to know your neighbours is easy.

And for the more functional side, a plethora of outstanding schools and some of Grey County’s most prestigious medical practices all sit within walking distance. Source: AvranceCorp Development

Neighbourhood : Rural Meaford.

Sales started 2022

Currently in pre-construction” is a new term to me, I think it means not in construction.

– Farmers Market is Fridays.

– There is no beach, and the body of water is not “Georgian Bay Lake”.

– “A plethora of outstanding schools” must have meant one new school with LOTS of portables.

– “…some of Grey County’s most prestigious medical practices”. We have some great family physicians here, but they might not feel prestigious yet. In any event, they don’t take new patients, and are not “within walking distance” unless one is in rather robust health. Same goes for walking to the Meaford E.R.

The neighbourhood is not “rural Meaford”, that location is as urban as Meaford gets.

From what I see in online real estate listings, the property is for sale.

Hopefully those with deposits and progress payments will get their money back.
