Get Involved in Meaford’s 2026 Budget: Key Dates and Public Input Opportunities

The Municipality of Meaford is preparing the 2026 Budget in accordance with Strong Mayors Legislation that has been imposed upon 216 of the 444 municipalities by the provincial government. Unlike previous years where municipal staff developed the budget and presented it to Council, this year the mayor will submit the budget and bring it forward to Council with the support of municipal staff.

The budget outlines how money will be spent on services, programs, and projects that matter to you, such as roads, parks, and community programs. Your feedback helps shape these decisions, so we encourage everyone to get involved.

Residents can share ideas and comments by attending meetings in areas that interest them or providing written feedback. The agenda for budget meetings will be shared before the meeting and include a breakdown of the various department budget and projects to allow for public viewing and engagement.
