Georgian Bay Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu sent a team of five competitors to the 2026 GTA Classic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competition in Brampton on September 12, and came home with an outstanding performance.
The team finished the day with a combined 11-1 record, nine finishes, four gold medals and one bronze medal.

Weston Mccoag – Boys Under 10 White Belt, 65 lb Division
Gold — 3-0 with 2 finishes
Zean Jorge De Luna – Boys Under 10 White Belt, 72 lb Division
Gold — 2-0 with 2 finishes
Easton Dunn – Boys Under 12 White Belt, 85 lb Division
Gold — 2-0 with 2 finishes
Mishka Molchanov – Boys Under 14 White Belt, 105 lb Division
Bronze — 3-1 with 2 finishes
Jamie Laverdure – Female White Belt
Gold — 1-0, winning by submission
Overall, Georgian Bay BJJ finished the tournament with a 91.7% win rate, with nine of the team’s 11 victories coming by finish.
The performances were made even more impressive by the fact that this was the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition for both Mishka and Jamie.
“I’m so proud of everyone who competed. They all worked incredibly hard preparing for this tournament, and proved themselves against much larger and more established gyms. I am so proud of all of them,” said Coach Kyle Clements.
Georgian Bay Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers kids and adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes every weekday in Meaford.
