With the new stay-at-home order in effect, Grey County is reminding residents that services are still available during this province-wide Emergency Declaration. The County continues to safely deliver programs and services while adhering to provincial and Public Health guidelines and regulations.
The following changes are in effect in order to maintain services and support our communities while keeping each other safe.
Administration Building
The Administration Building is closed to the public for the duration of the stay-at-home order. Staff are working remotely and continue to provide services virtually. To access services, please call the office at 1-800-567-4739. Many services can also be accessed online at grey.ca.
Business Enterprise Centre
Services are being offered remotely by appointment. To reach the Business Enterprise Centre, call 519-371-3232 or email bec@grey.ca
Children’s Services/EarlyON
To support designated essential workers, the Province has extended a targeted emergency childcare program for eligible families. To learn more about availability in Grey County, visit grey.ca/childrens-services. EarlyON Centres are unable to offer in-person programming at this time. Virtual programming is available. See grey.ca/childrens-services/early-on for more information.
Grey Roots Museum & Archives
Grey Roots is closed to the public for the duration of the stay-at-home order. Staff are working remotely and are available to provide services virtually, including research assistance. Online education programs are available at greyroots.com.
Grey Transit Route
Grey Transit Route continues to operate with safety precautions and limited capacity. See grey.ca/grey-transit-route for details.
Ontario Works
In-person interviews for Ontario Works applicants have been replaced with telephone interviews in order to review and complete applications. Contact Ontario Works by calling 1-800-567-4739.
Provincial Offences
Provincial Offences Courts are operating virtually. No in-person appearances are taking place at this time. Remote options for ticket payment and traffic court are available by calling 519-376-3470. Tickets can also be paid online at grey.ca/traffic-tickets-provincial-offences.
Other Services
The County is maintaining operations in corporate services, economic development and tourism, housing, long term care, paramedic services, planning and development, social services, and transportation services. County Council and other public meetings are being held virtually and can be viewed at grey.ca/council/live-stream. County staff are working remotely where possible.
