Community Invited to Human Trafficking Awareness Town Hall

Meaford residents are invited to attend a Human Trafficking Awareness Community Town Hall on Thursday, November 13, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at Christ Church Anglican, 34 Boucher Street East. Doors open at 6 p.m.

This free drop-in event aims to increase community awareness of how human trafficking impacts families, youth, and communities across Grey and Bruce counties. Attendees will hear from local individuals with lived experience, police representatives, and community partners. The evening will include a panel discussion and a Q&A session, offering an opportunity to learn more about local prevention, support, and intervention efforts.

Human trafficking impacts communities like ours, not just large cities. Learning together helps us recognize the signs, support those affected, and prevent it from happening here,” said Lynne Fascinato, CEO of the Meaford Public Library.

The event is held in cooperation with the Grey Bruce Community Safety and Well-Being Plan, several community partners, including the Municipality of Meaford and the Meaford Public Library, with speakers sponsored by the Friends of Meaford Library.

Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and learn what can be done collectively to keep Meaford and the surrounding communities safe.
