Hours after the federal government issued a number of changes to Canada Post, unionized postal workers announced that they are on a nation-wide strike.
Our subscriber newspapers were delivered to the Meaford and Thornbury post offices on Thursday afternoon; unfortunately they are being held and will not be delivered to your mailboxes until the posties are back to work.
Please come in to the office – we had extra copies of this issue printed (I wish I could claim that I have psychic abilities that foretold this, but I don’t) and we are happy to give you a copy. If you are part of a neighbourhood or group and would like to distribute to your friends, neighbours, etc., we have lots of copies for you to distribute. Just come in to the office and request them.
Let’s hope this is just another blip, and that they’ll be back to work soon!
