Brightshores Health System Updates Visitor Parking Rates

Brightshores Health System is updating visitor parking rates at three sites, effective Wednesday, October 7.

Brightshores said that, like hospitals across the province, they continue to face significant financial pressures, including rising operating costs. Adjusting visitor parking rates is one of several steps being taken to manage these pressures.

Revenue generated from parking helps offset the costs of operating and maintaining parking facilities, including snow clearing, lighting, repairs, and ongoing management. Once these costs are covered, additional revenue is reinvested directly into patient care and hospital services, helping to continue to provide high-quality care for the community.

Visitor parking rates were last adjusted in September 2022.

Among the changes, the day pass is increasing from $9 to $10.50. Updated pricing is available on their website: https://www.brightshores.ca/parking-and-transportation/

To help reduce impact, key supports remain in place:

  • The first 30 minutes of parking remains free.
  • Discounted rates continue to be available for multi-day visits and can be used on non-consecutive days. They are valid for a period of one year.
  • Patients currently receiving dialysis or oncology treatments are eligible for 30 daily parking passes at a reduced rate of $30. They are also valid for a period of one year.

Visitor parking rates at the Meaford, Owen Sound, and Wiarton sites will be as follows:

Pass Type New Rate
Per Hour

Includes Owen Sound ED

$3.00 (Daily Max: $10.50)

10-Day Pass $52.00
30-Day Pass $63.50
*Dialysis Patients $30/30 daily passes (no change)
*Oncology Patients $30/30 daily passes (new)

Note that the reduced-rate parking passes are available for patients actively receiving dialysis or oncology treatment and will be provided through the clinical program and Business Office.
