Big Canoe Filmfest Approaching

Support the local water quality monitoring work of the Big Canoe Project and take in an exciting night of storytelling at the Big Canoe Filmfest.

Follow the stories of a diverse group of paddlers who embody the richness and depth of canoe culture in our gorgeous short film selection by Goh Irimoto, The Canoe.

The feature film, Paddle to the Amazon, a film by Chris Forde, tells the tale of the world’s longest canoe trip,12,000 miles from Winnipeg’s Red River to the world’s largest river, in all its complexity. Join organizers afterwards for a Q&A with Dana Starkell, who, forty years ago, completed this trip with his father Don.

Hosted by Big Canoe Project Executive Director Tom Thwaits, sponsored by Meaford Culture Foundation.

General Admission $22, students (12-18) $10, kids under 12 free.

Meaford Hall, Friday, April 29, 7 p.m.
