Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft from a vehicle in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
On August 15, 2023, at 3:40 p.m., the OPP received a report of tools that were stolen from inside a truck while parked at a mechanics shop for a couple of days on Highway 6&21 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. At this time there were no suspects or surveillance video.
On August 30, 2023, at 9:34 a.m., the owner of the tools contacted police to report that he located his tools being sold on Facebook Marketplace and he had set up a time to meet the suspect in the Municipality of Meaford.
As a result, a 28-year-old individual of Meaford has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Trafficking in stolen goods under $5,000
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 28, at 10 a.m.
