Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have confirmed that the human remains found on the shoreline of Georgian Beach Road North in the Municipality of Meaford on November 2, 2017 is that of an adult foot.
The detached foot has been reported to have been inside a sneaker, and was found in a rock pile on the shoreline near a cottage on Georgian Beach Road. Police are actively investigating to determine its identity.
On November 2, at approximately 3:26 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of human remains found on the shoreline of Georgian Beach Road North in the Municipality of Meaford.
The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit continue to search the area.
The Grey County OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Ontario Forensic Pathology Services – Forensic Anthropology, and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario are continuing the investigation.
The investigation is in the early stages and no further information is available at this time.
