Writer and Director Kirk Jones Joins Meaford International Film Festival for 20th Edition

Award-winning director Kirk Jones will join this year’s Meaford International Film Festival (MIFF) via Zoom to discuss his BAFTA-winning film I Swear. The film tells the inspiring life story of notable Tourette’s Syndrome campaigner John Davidson.

During the interview, Jones will discuss working with actors and non-actors, including individuals living with Tourette’s Syndrome. Industry insight into film financing and casting will also be covered, as well as John Davidson’s involvement with the film.

I Swear is a rare film. It’s funny, sad, touching and creates a deeper understanding of what life is like for those living with Tourette’s Syndrome,” said Anna den Hengst, Artistic Director, MIFF. “I’m thrilled to get the opportunity to speak to Kirk about his film and get insight into how this special film was made.”

Jones’ other work includes Everybody’s Fine, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, and Waking Ned Devine, which was the second highest grossing film compared to budget after The Blair Witch Project in 1999.

MIFF returns to Meaford Hall, September 25-27, with I Swear and the Kirk Jones interview closing the festival on September 27 at 7 p.m. More information about this year’s festival, including the full film line-up, is available at www.meafordfilmfest.ca.
