Laugh, Learn and Listen With Author Raven Murphy

The Meaford Public Library will host speaker, seasoned nature guide, and author of Shut Up and Listen: A No BS Guide to Unlocking Nature’s Wisdom and the Winter Edition: Snow, Slush, and Sanity for the second Coffee House Reads event on Friday, April 17, at 1 p.m.

Murphy is known for her candid, funny, heartfelt style, and eagerly shows people that you don’t need to be an expert hiker or meditation master to feel the benefits of nature. As she says: “When you give nature your attention, it gives you back calm, clarity, confidence, and a sense of belonging you can’t find anywhere else.”

Murphy’s books invite audiences to rediscover how nature can ease stress, spark clarity, and restore perspective. Through humour, honest storytelling, and simple interactive exercises, she explores how nature becomes a powerful teacher when we pause and pay attention. This engaging presentation is both insightful and inspiring, leaving you informed, energized, and ready to apply practical ideas right away. This talk includes Q&A and book signing.

Tickets are $5 per person, cash and debit accepted, and can be purchased in advance at the Meaford Public Library (no refunds). The ticket price includes a hot beverage and sweet treat from McGinty’s Café.

Signed copies of Shut Up and Listen will be available for purchase at the event, cash, credit/debit, and e-transfer accepted.
