Editor,
I attended the meeting of Committee of Adjustment on Wednesday Feb. 25, 2026 and heard the comments given by all. I have observed the enormous pile (mountain) of excavated soil and the expanding water (lake) in the centre of this property. It appears that Sky Dev are trying to avoid the problems which have become evident that insufficient and/or inaccurate research was done earlier in the project to identify soil and water issues which should have created a red flag for this location.
The fact the project has AGAIN gone to the Ontario Land Tribunal showing planning issues are being violated is concerning. There are many other locations which are possibilities for this developer to look toward trying to push through. The Meaford Planning Department should not have agreed to the earlier request from this developer as it clearly violates points in the existing Meaford Official Plan.
Thanks for your serious consideration of this project – don’t let it pass to OLT without thoughts on the future of Meaford.
Why not consider this site as the new area for the local splash pad – water feature, hill climbing and adventure playground?
Christine Codrington, Meaford
