Students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 at Georgian Bay Community School celebrated the Olympic spirit with enthusiasm and pride on Thursday, February 19.
Several teachers from the school planned an exciting series of activity stations, including curling, bobsled, biathlon, hockey, and torch tag, among others. Grade 6 students helped lead the stations while primary classes rotated through the activities, enjoying an hour of fun, teamwork, and physical activity.
The day began with a parade and opening ceremony, where administrators Kelly Wilkins, Jacob Guardhouse, and Colin Shawer joined the celebration as flag bearers. The school choir performed the national anthem, and Bob Hoare kept the energy high by playing music as students enthusiastically participated in each event.
“The GBCS Primary Olympic Day was a tremendous success, showcasing school spirit and cooperation. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the teachers who planned and organized this special event for our students,” said organizers.
