Dear Editor,
I will probably die not deciding on the PSP but at least my indecision will be because of facts, not innuendo. Again today I read about what MIGHT happen or WHAT IF this happens. Most are letters written by people who have not asked the people who know.
Because the council neglected their duty years ago, I wrote the Mayor of Luddington and got back letters from the mayor and staff. I forwarded one to you and one to council. When I asked a councillor, he did not know anything about it. I have never seen either letter in the paper. Those trees being destroyed would be worse if it was not already a helicopter pad and soccer field. If the pond got too full and the three fail-safes failed, the design is to redirect the water out a spout back down the hill. If the wall breached, just pull the lever and let the water back out and cut power to pumps. As far as I can see there are problems for me but they are not from misinformation or fear tactics. Unfortunately I am computer challenged and both letters are ‘saved’ on this machine but heaven only knows under what. Maybe it is a really bad idea, but What If it is not? We need facts not fear. The mayor in Luddington is very happy with theirs and there is no reason to go back 50 years for problems. That is saying everything has been perfect for 40 years—-isn’t it?
Sincerely,
Roberta Docherty, Meaford
