Local feed and farm supply company Stonekreek is celebrating nine years in business by hosting a customer appreciation day on Saturday, July 19.
“I am happy to share that we are hosting our Customer Appreciation Day on July 19 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. There will be a BBQ, sales and prizes to be won! We’re excited to be hosting our open house and giving back to our community as we are entering our ninth year of business,” owner Ava van Beusekom told The Independent. “What started as something so small has become something so big in many different ways. I never dreamt of it becoming what it is today; a place of connection, community, and helping mold the next generation.”
The journey for StoneKreek began in 2016.
“My husband and I moved to the ol’ Waterton Farm (as local farmers refer to it) in Sydenham township in 2016, which can only be described as God’s country. It has been an absolute privilege being able to raise my family and business in this community. Our customers love coming out to the countryside, picking up their products while seeing our livestock out on fresh green pastures,” van Beusekom said. “Over the years, we have grown Stonekreek Feed & Farm Supply to become a local agriculture connection. We are a local family business providing premium livestock feed, forage and silage products, crop seed, pet food, women’s work wear, and Fresh from the Farm products. Our vision is to strengthen and support the local agricultural community through service, high quality products, and increasing agricultural literacy. We stand firm in our beliefs and values and put our customers first. We are built on old-fashioned principles – a place where a handshake is a binding agreement.”
Community is key for Stonekreek Feed & Farm Supply.
“We are firm believers in supporting and building our local agricultural community. As a past 4-H member myself and continually living with the motto ‘Learn to do by Doing’, we are proud to support various 4-H clubs and help mold and support the future generation. The Sydenham Fall Fair is also an event we are proud to support and take part of with our children showing their livestock,” said van Beusekom. “Agricultural literacy is a pillar at Stonekreek as the divide between rural and urban continues. Our Fresh from the Farm products are frequent topics to how and why we raise our animals as well as other local products we carry in store. There is nothing more amazing than hearing the giggles of young children when they come out to the farm for a tour of all the animals.”
Stonekreek’s customer appreciation day and open house will be held on Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
