Freedom of the City Parade and Open House at 4th Canadian Division Training Centre

The 4th Canadian Division Training Centre in Meaford will exercise the 30th anniversary of Freedom of the City in the Municipality of Meaford with a military parade on Friday, July 18 at 10 a.m. A reception for the community will follow at the Meaford Arena at 11 a.m.

Exercise of Freedom of the City signifies a strong bond between a city and a military unit. The parade is a formal opportunity for local residents and members of 4 CDTC to celebrate their long-standing symbiotic relationship. The reception offers an occasion to build new relationships and strengthen existing ones.

4 CDTC has also announced its upcoming Open House event, scheduled for Saturday, July 19.

This event will be held at 4 CDTC, 139152 Grey Road 112 RR1, Meaford, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to the public.

The Open House will provide an opportunity for community members to receive guided tours of 4 CDTC facilities, meet Defence Team members, and learn about the history and current activities of the base. Demonstrations and interactive stands will make for an interesting and exciting event for all ages. There will also be activities for families with young children to include a bouncy castle, a kiddie commando course, Juno the Canadian Army mascot, and much more.
