On Saturday, May 31, five members of the Georgian Bay Coyotes running club took part in the Rotary Huron Shore Run in Southampton, a race that helps to raise funds for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital as well as other local charities. The Coyotes entered in the 5km distance and completed their first road race for the season.
While the weather was cool and blustery, Chloe Burgess, Avery McPhatter, Madelyn Moores, Coby Robertson, and Mila Dolan all raced well and most knocked at least a full minute off their previous best 5km time. Chloe finished third in the female 10-13 age category in a time of 22:08, and her teammates were not far behind.
“These young racers worked hard and represented the team extremely well. We look forward to seeing them race right here in Meaford on Saturday, July 12 for the Meaford Harbour Run,” said the club.
