Local radio station Lite99.3 FM and the Meaford Hospital Foundation have announced their upcoming Radiothon event in support of the Meaford Hospital Foundation – ‘On Air for Healthcare’.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and aims to raise critical funds to ensure the continued delivery of exceptional healthcare to the community.
In light of the ongoing postal strike, the Meaford Hospital Foundation is facing a significant challenge, with an anticipated loss of $150,000 from its usual holiday direct mail campaign. This revenue shortfall could have a direct impact on the Foundation’s ability to purchase essential medical equipment and fund vital services in the future.
“We rely heavily on our community’s generosity, especially during the holiday season, to fund equipment purchases and healthcare improvements at Meaford Hospital. The postal strike has created a significant gap in our fundraising efforts, and we need the support of our community now more than ever,” said Vince Rogers, Executive Director of the Meaford Hospital Foundation.
Lite99.3 FM is stepping up as a proud supporter of the Foundation, hosting this 12-hour Radiothon to help raise the funds needed to bridge this gap. The event will feature interviews, community stories, and updates throughout the day, as well as opportunities for listeners to call in and donate. All proceeds raised during the Radiothon will directly benefit the Meaford Hospital Foundation’s efforts to equip the hospital with state-of-the-art medical tools and resources.
