The Meaford Hospital Foundation’s annual Harbour 5K run is this weekend, on Saturday, July 13.
Each year, hundreds of participants gather at the start line, some hoping to set a new personal best time, others just looking to enjoy a leisurely run or walk around our beautiful harbour with friends and family, and all working to raise funds for Meaford’s hospital.
Over the 28-year history of the event, more than $750,000 has been raised in support of our local hospital. Organizers are hoping this year’s event will raise $75,000.
Saturday’s events will start off with a one kilometre fun run for youth under age 12, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The five kilometre main event will start at 9 a.m. sharp, starting at the Rotary Harbour Pavilion.
Online registration closes at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. Advance registration and race kit pick up will be available at the Meaford Harbour Farmer’s Market on Friday, July 12, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Late registration is available in person for a $60 fee on Saturday, July 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
