Marlene passed peacefully at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on Thursday, September 14, 2023, in her 83rd year.
She was born in Mildmay on March 27, 1941, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kutz. She was predeceased by her three sisters Norma McAskill, Shirley Lahn, and Ruth Brindley. She is survived by her husband Larry Spiessman of Meaford (married 64 years). Also surviving are their two devoted children, Steven of Searchmont and Charlene of Clarksburg. She will be fondly remembered by five grandchildren, Emma, Brandon, Owen, Jack, and Charlie, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Also surviving are her two sisters-in-law Helen and Marilyn. Marlene will be missed by her many friends as they remember her love of life and her willingness to reach out and lend a hand to anyone. Marlene worked many years as a Red Cross Homemaker. She was an avid Bingo player and also enjoyed her wonderful neighbours and church family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Meaford United Church on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Grey Bruce Hospice ‘Chapman House’ or the Meaford United Church would be appreciated.
