Get ready to celebrate Canada Day. Take in the fun at Meaford Harbour and throughout downtown all day Saturday, July 1, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
There will be lots to see and do, starting with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Military Family Resource Centre and Meaford Rotary Club, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
A variety of fun activities beginning at 10 a.m. will include an inflatable obstacle course and slide, axe throwing, canoe tours, community wellness circle, vendor market, community connection area, and so much more. Bring your pooch and get a smooch at the Beautiful Joe tent.
A great lineup of live music will hit the main stage starting at 9 a.m. and will continue right through to 6:30 p.m. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Rotary Club will host a barbecue and beer garden. The Meaford Kinsmen will then host the beer garden through to 6:30 p.m.
Join us for opening ceremonies with Indigenous drumming and flag raising with Mayor Ross Kentner at the flagpole, located at the entrance to the harbour. We are honoured to once again welcome Heather McIntyre to share a special Indigenous welcome. The Goldenaires are back to sing the Canadian national anthem during the raising of both the Canadian flag and the Every Child Matters Flag, followed by the Rotary Club’s Citizen of the Year award presentation.
At 12:45 p.m, cast your eyes to the sky to watch the spectacular Dam Pub Air Show.
All these activities would not be possible without the help of our generous sponsors and the Celebrate Canada Heritage Grant for $3,840.
