Effective Wednesday, March 1, all Municipality of Meaford roads are placed under a reduced load (5 tonnes per axel) restriction and will remain in place until Monday, May 1.
Load restriction periods are weather-dependent. They may be extended as late as May 31 due to changing weather patterns. Notice updates will be issued on our website and social media pages to define restriction periods based on seasonal weather conditions.
Load weight is restricted on roads throughout the Municipality. If emergency access is required during this time frame by vehicles that do not meet the restrictions, they will be granted at the discretion of the Manager of Transportation and Fleet Services.
Individuals may apply for an exemption permit to the load restrictions. Applications must be made in writing to the Manager of Transportation and Fleet Services. Requests can be submitted to the Administrative Office at 21 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford, or alternatively e-mailed to roads@meaford.ca
