Annual burn permits are available now and can be obtained online by visiting www.meaford.ca/BurnPermits. All residents who applied for a permit last year will be able to renew their permits by logging into their accounts.
This is the second year the Municipality of Meaford is using an online permitting system.
“Moving our permits online makes the process faster and allows us to better communicate with everyone,” said Courtney Allen, Municipality of Meaford Fire Chief. “It helps us educate people about what kind of permit they need and how to have a safe burn,” he added. All annual permits are free, are required prior to any burning, and play an important role in fire safety for our community.
If you are having difficulty with the process or do not have regular access to a computer, options are: email fire@meaford.ca or call 519-538-1060 ext. 1602 for support. You can also arrange an in-person appointment with a staff member at the Meaford Fire Hall, located at 81 Stewart Street, Meaford.
