Owen Sound Council voted on Monday, November 1, to authorize the mayor and staff to complete the sale of Billy Bishop Regional Airport to Clayton Smith, an aviation enthusiast with a proven track record in the operation of small airports.
The sale price is $1.5 million and the transaction is scheduled to close on December 10, 2021.
Under Smith, the airport’s operations will continue, including the use of the facility by patient transfer services such as ORNGE.
