For Day 4 of National AccessAbility Week, the Municipality of Meaford is highlighting accessibility in our community by focusing on the many exciting capital projects and inclusive facility upgrades in our municipality that remove barriers and allow all residents to enjoy public spaces.
The new Meaford Public Library is a great example.
The Meaford Public Library offers five fully accessible universal washrooms, a washroom with an adult change table, fully accessible book shelving throughout the library, wayfinding signage, wheelchair friendly access throughout the entire space, and more! But it doesn’t stop there. The Municipality of Meaford is committed to making all of its public spaces accessible for all. Thanks to recent renovations, the Bognor Community Hall now offers an accessible washroom and other features such as an accessible platform lift. Similarly, the Harbour washroom facilities will be receiving upgrades to provide accessible access. These projects highlight the importance of considering mobility, accessibility, and accommodation for all existing and future facilities and structures.
